Christmas lights at Shaplands Buderim

Each Christmas Dereck and Bonnie Mills, owners and franchisees of the Shapland Swim School at Buderim, really get into the spirit of Christmas by going all out with their Christmas lights display.

Dereck and Bonnie take great pride in how their swim school and residence looks at night (the photo does not do it justice) and judging by the steady stream of cars that pull up across the road; windows go down only to be replaced by beaming little faces that light up at the display; Dereck and Bonnie’s Christmas ligh show is a hit.

Our philosophy at Shaplands has always been to give our customers a different learn to swim experience with small classes of three in a heated pool specifically designed for teaching your child their Personal Aquatic Survival Skills. To make their classes even more productive Dereck and Bonnie only take one class in the pool at any one time so the quality of your child’s swimming lesson is second to none.

Bonnie, who spends many hours in the pool each week, was a competitive swimmer and has been teaching swimming for well over a decade and before they bought the Swim School worked for Mick and Maree Dowling, the first franchisees at Buderim.

Dereck gets a lot of joy out of making the swim school’s Christmas light show spectactular as he feels it is one other way, apart from teaching children to swim, he can contribute back to the community.

Well done Dereck and Bonnie.
